| Q. |
My MINI has a sunroof; do you have a product that I can use? [back to top] |
| |
| A. |
Yes. Cooper Flags offers all of our flags in two sunroof versions, solid vinyl and perforated window film that allows light in and the ability to see out of the vehicle. We use an optically clear over laminate on the perforated material to prevent dirt and other debris from settling in the holes. Without this laminate, it is difficult to keep it clean, and you risk premature fading of the inks from cleaning products and sun exposure. *You may request the perforated material without the over laminate if you are ordering a sunroof cover only. If it will be part of a full roof with sunroof, it will not have the same glossy appearance as the surrounding vinyl. Proper care is very important with this option as the perforated material was designed for the side and rear windows of vehicles where it only receives partial sun exposure. If not properly cleaned and conditioned, over exposure to direct sunlight and excessive heat will dry out the vinyl over laminate and cause it to deteriorate where it crosses over the holes. However, with proper care and conditioning you can extend the life of the graphic. Even with the best care, the life of this product on the sunroof is no more than 2 years. This is in contrast to the 5 years you can expect with our solid vinyl products.
Perforated vinyl is not recommended for the MINI in a cold weather area where it will be exposed to ice or snow build up and be subjected to freeze and thaw cycles. This material is not for everyone, you should consider all of the pros and cons, before making a decision on which material is best for you.
You will receive a sample of a product we recommend for cleaning and conditioning of all our vinyl products. It is Aerospace 303 protectant, and will help the vinyl from prematurely drying out. There are many variables involved that effect the life of the vinyl, such as, is the car garaged during the day, is the car cleaned regularly, is the graphic cleaned and conditioned regularly, are petroleum based products used to clean the graphic (never use petroleum based products on vinyl), was it installed properly, etc.
Even with the best care, and climate conditions, the perforated material will not have the life expectancy of solid vinyl. You can expect no more than 2 years with the perforated material. If you have any questions or concerns about any of our products, please give us a call at 214-755-9116 |

| Q. |
I noticed that some vendors offers a full roof with Solid sunroof option for less money than shown on your site. Why the higher price? [back to top] |
| |
| A. |
There could be several reasons. They may use lower priced material or quicker production methods. Some vendors will offer you the solid full roof graphic to be installed on you Mini with a sunroof, and they leave it to your installer to trim the sunroof sections out during the install.
We feel there is less risk for damage to the rubber seal around the sunroof if the sections are produced separately and we are not comfortable leaving it to the installer to make it fit.
It does add additional cost to production, but I'm sure a new sunroof seal would cost a bit more. |

| Q. |
What makes Cooper Flags roof graphics a premium product? [back to top] |
| |
| A. |
Cooper Flags uses only 3M products for our roof graphics. Our roof graphics are printed on 3M Controltac Plus with Comply Performance and laminated for protection.
This industry leading vinyl is the same durable material used for premium full wrap vehicle graphics. When compared to typical cut vinyl flags, Cooper Flags work on any color roof, and provides better durability and a broader range of colors and designs.
We also control the quality by producing all of our vinyl products in house, we are not a graphics broker, and we do not drop ship. We produce, package and ship all of the vinyl products we offer.

| Q. |
How do I care for my Graphics once they are installed? [back to top] |
| |
| A. |
You must remember, this is a vinyl product and should be cleaned and conditioned during your routine washing. If you have the Perforated material, over exposure to direct sun and excessive heat will dry out the over laminate and cause it to deteriorate where it crosses over the holes. 303 Aerospace Protectant (Available on our site under accessories)will help condition the vinyl and minumize the damage caused by excessive heat. Avoid car washes that use brushes or high pressure. We recommend hand washing. Obviously abrasives should never be used on vinyl, including Vinyl decals. Petroleum distillates are a universal "no-no" for both vinyl and rubber. Waxes should never be used on vinyl because (a) Most waxes contain petroleum distillates, (b) Wax is a build-up product, holding in the heat absorbed from the sun and accelerating heat damage.
Virtually all vinyl manufacturers agree that no type of oil should be used on vinyl. Silicone oil vinyl treatments should not be used for several reasons; 1) Silicone oil formulations typically attack the vinyl topcoat, 2) Silicone oil formulations usually contain no effective UV screening ingredients, 3) Silicone oil formulations are build-up products which accelerate heat damage, 4) Silicone oil formulations are greasy and oily, attract dust, and soil more quickly. READ THE LABEL! Product directions suggesting more than one coat for better cosmetic enhancement are build-up products and are recommended against by vinyl manufacturers.
303 Aerospace Protectant (Available on our site under accessories) is the only proven effective treatment that is safe for vinyl. Therefore if you use wax on your MINI it would be best to treat the vinyl graphics first with 303 Aerospace Protectant. Spray on/wipe off. Then 303 would repel any wax over sprayed or wiped onto the decal. It's quite durable and effective repellency is an added benefit 303 Protectant provides in this application.
303 Aerospace Protectant is a beautifying liquid sunscreen, the routine use of which keeps vinyl looking like new while dramatically extending its useful life. 303 contains no petrochemicals, silicone oils or petroleum distillates. 303 is not a build-up product, and treated surfaces dissipate heat normally. 303 is not oily or greasy and does not attract dust. In fact, 303 treated vinyl repels dust, dirt and stains, stays cleaner longer and is much easier to clean when finally soiled. Since 303 contains a tested-safe-for-vinyl cleaner and is a cleaner and protector combined, pre-cleaners and pre-cleaning usually are not required. 303 has been tested and is recommended by major vinyl and vinyl accessory manufacturers. As the leader in UV screening technology since 1980, 303 is the most powerful UV screening treatment available for vinyl, leather, rubber, gelcoat fiberglass, and most plastics. Regular use of 303 can reduce UV caused slow-fade up to 100% |

| Q. |
Do you do custom work not shown on your website or gallery? [back to top] |
| |
| A. |
Yes. We do quite a bit of custom work for MINI's and other vehicles. If you are looking for a color
change (outside of our stock choices) to an existing design we can provide this for a
nominal additional investment. Pure custom orders are quoted on a case by case basis.
Please contact us for additional information and pricing. info@cooperflags.com |

| Q. |
Do the colors of the graphics on the website match those of the flag I will recieve? [back to top] |
| |
| A. |
The images on the website are representations of our products. Because of the wide array of monitors and monitor settings we cannot guarantee the accuracy of the colors that are depicted on the website. |
| |
| |
| Q. |
What colors are available for your flags? [back to top] |
| |
| A. |
Our flags are designed to closely match PMS (Pantone Matching System) codes provided for each countries flag as given in the international registry. With our digital color processing we can alter country flags to closely match your MINI paint (Digital printing can not print metallic, we will closely match the base color). Please notify us during the order process if you do NOT want your flag in the standard colors. |
| |
| |
| Q. |
Can you do custom color applications? [back to top] |
| |
| A. |
With digital printing, we can produce thousands of color options! Let us know what colors you are looking for and we can probably print it. |
| |
| |
| Q. |
I received my stripes and they appear to be slightly wider then shown on the website. Did I receive the right order? [back to top] |
| |
| A. |
The images on the website are not to scale, and are only to show the style of stripe and general area were they will be installed. If you require a specific width or spacing, please contact us at info@cooperflags.com to discuss a custom order. |
| |
| |
| Q. |
How long should I expect to wait after ordering until I get my roof graphic or stripes? [back to top] |
| |
| A. |
To ensure highest quality, all of our products are produced to order. To minimize labor cost of printing one or two flags, we usually run printing two days a week. Due to the printing, laminating, and finish out process, we ask you to allow 8-10 business days from the order date to shipment. We are able to ship Stripe orders usually in 6-8 business days, providing we have your color choice in stock. |
| |
| |
| Q. |
My product arrived damaged, what should I do? [back to top] |
| |
| A. |
All damage sustained in shipping must be taken up with the appropriate carrier. Please check the box for possible damage prior to taking delivery. |
| |
| |
| Q. |
Can I install these products myself? [back to top] |
| |
| A. |
Cooper Flags suggests using a qualified installer for any of our graphics. We do include installation instructions for the “do it yourself person”, but we can not be held liable for any mishaps during installation or the costs associated with replacement graphics due to errant installation. Similar to purchasing other aftermarket accessories such as suspension parts or exhaust applications, these products should only be installed by a trained professional. |
| |
| |
| Q. |
Where can I find an installer in my area? [back to top] |
| |
| A. |
To find a professional installer you can consult the following resources. Our suggestion is to ask the installer
if they have experience installing large format graphics.
Local Yellow Pages

| |
| |
| Q. |
My installer damaged the graphic during installation and needs to replace it. What do we do? [back to top] |
| |
| A. |
The installation of the graphic is between you and your installer. Have your installer place an order through the website. Have the installer reference your original order # in the notes field during checkout and that he is the installer of the original order. In most cases, we will apply a discount to help offset some of the cost to the installer. |

| |
| Q. |
I’ve received my graphics from Cooper Flags and the colors don’t match exactly, why is that? [back to top] |
| |
| A. |
Although digitally printed graphics give us 1000’s of color options, there are many variables that effect color. Additionally, all computer monitors are calibrated differently, so the colors you see on your computer screen may be different from the color of the actual graphic. Also, some of our designs, to achieve their dynamic visual look, employ some techniques that may under extreme “close-up” visual scrutiny seem to create small dots of colors that are different than the “overall” color or colors of the graphic. Cooper Flags graphics are designed for the BEST viewing from a few feet away from the vehicle. |
| |
| |
| Q. |
I live in a hot climate, how do I know your product will not fade? [back to top] |
| |
| A. |
All our roof designs are covered with a clear over laminate. This material adds durability to the product and lessens the effects of UV light on the material itself. There are many variables involved such as is the car garaged during the day, is the car cleaned regularly, is the graphic cleaned and conditioned regularly, are petroleum based products used to clean the graphic (never use petroleum based product on vinyl), was it installed properly, etc. With proper care and conditioning using 303 aerospace protectant, you can expect years of enjoyment from your graphics. 3M provides warranty information on their materials against fading and cracking when the application is performed within their specification. Please visit www.3m.com to view the warranty specifications for your region. |
